Taking time from her hectic travel schedule, US World Masters team member Nancy Huntoon hosted a clinic on September 21 in lieu of the usual seeded doubles tourney. Nancy's credentials on the board are well known, but her academic background in motion in sports and her articulate presentation made this a most positive experience for all who attended. There is definitely a surety in having a pro clarify an aspect of the game and then being able to demonstrate the benefits of that knowledge.
For over an hour Nancy spoke to a rapt audience on form, practice routines, and handling tournament pressure. Then the floor was opened for another half hour of questions. That was followed by challange matches against all comers and some one-on-one critiquing and observations. As the challange matches got under way, Smoke invited the spectators to demonstrate their frustration with the Washington home team by "taking out the Redskins". On a specially constructed board paticipants were directed to hit cut-outs of Redskin players and then hit the double one for a raft of prizes. Paula Wesley captured the most coveted trophy, a set of decorated boxer shorts replete with pouch to carry a set of darts.

Nancy and Animal (wearing bragging-rights cap)
Over the evening four challengers defeated the pro and were awarded
subscriptions to BullsEye News. Dave "Animal" Diaz (15 dart 501) was also
crowned with a cap embroidered with the legend, "I Beat Nancy Huntoon".
The evening's festivities netted Nancy's favorite charity, the American Red Cross,
$130. Many thanks are due to the generous hospitality of Partick O'Donnell
and Kim O'Neill and the staff at Angles Bar and Billiards.
