CYRTOCARA MOORI

Cyrtocara Moori :
The name Cyrtocara comes from the ancient Greek words: Cyrto (rounded) and Cara (head). They name suits them perfectly, since that is exactly what they have. The well-known hump on thier head appears and grows as they mature. I, luckily, will be able to watch this happen as the moori in my tank are still juveniles. This is a large haplochromis and is supposedly a relatively peacefull fish, although I have heard contradictory reports. So far they seem relatively calm in my tank. This is also a very unique cichlid, as it is the only fish from Lake Malawi to have this very interesting forhead...almost resembling a dolphin.
