REBECCA KRAFT RECTOR

I live in the hills of Maryland with my husband, my horse and my cat. My horse's name is Maud. She's a bay 16.1 hand Thoroughbred mare. My cat is Merlin and he's the color of wet cement.

I'm a children's librarian and when I'm not at work, I'm reading, writing, riding, playing with my cat, or working in my garden. I love to read. I read mysteries, fantasies, science fiction, romances, and stories that make me laugh.

I started writing in elementary school where I wrote mystery stories and plays about rock bands and fantasy journeys. I loved it when my stories astonished my friends or made them laugh. I had two dreams when I was young-to have a horse and to write a book. Now I have both, but one of each is not enough. I want more horses and more books! And while we're dreaming, I'd also like an endless supply of chocolate and pizza.

TRIA AND THE GREAT STAR RESCUE is my first book.  I've also written for magazines:

"The Corpse Who Tricked Hitler" July 1997 Cricket

"The Corpse That Fooled Hitler" (reprint) 1999 Cricket/Smithsonian Kids' Castle Website
